Competent Authorities

Ministry of Health (MoH) - responsible for food safety
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) - responsible for Food safety
Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) - responsible for food safety
Vietnam Customs - responsible for customs import
Department of Food Safety (VFA) - is a specialized agency subordinate to the Ministry of Health, which, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, performs the task of advising and supporting the Minister of Health in state administration and law enforcement in the field of food safety.
Department of Animal Health (DAH) - is an organization reporting directly to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the task of advising and assisting the Minister in state administration and organizing law enforcement for veterinary medicine, animal food safety and animal products.

Food Safety Act No. 55/2010 / QH12 - regulates the rights and obligations of organizations and individuals in ensuring food safety; Conditions for ensuring food safety, food production and trade, and food import and export; Advertising, food labeling; Food testing; Food safety risk analysis; Prevent, prevent and resolve incidents related to food safety; Information, education and communication on food safety; responsible for state management of food safety.
Decree 15/2018 / ND-CP - directs a number of articles of the Food Safety Act
